MEC has provided process engineering and technical consulting for a complete chemical plant for polishing of a new super-conductor production line

An Italian company in the field of R&D and fabrication of components for the Physics Research Institutes has been involved in a production of super-conductives cavities for the European project XFEL. A new plant has been setup, including a chemical polishing line with a BCP (buffering chemical polishing) a EP (electro-polishing) and a final cleaning with UPW (ultra pure water)

Solution

MEC has worked with client’s engineers to deliver:

  • process and technology of BCP (buffering chemical polishing with acids)
  • technology and protorype of EP (electro-polishing)
  • process engineering and consulting of UPW (ultra pure water)
  • technical consulting and support on procurement and installation
  • support of plant startup
